Elections

Elections for two or three GSSUD Board Directors take place every year. Positions are held for a period of three years. Elections are managed by Kaufman County Elections Supervisor. If you are interested in running for office in 2024, please fill out the standard candidate application (see election agent) and return completed to Gastonia Scurry SUD main office at 8560 Page Ln, Scurry, TX. 

First Day to File for Place on General Election Ballot (for local political subdivisions ONLY) Saturday, July 20, 2024 (“first day” does not move; office hours not required)

Last Day to File for Place on General Election Ballot (for local political subdivisions ONLY) Monday, August 19, 2024 at 5:00 p.m.

Last Day to Register to Vote Tuesday, October 07, 2024

First Day of Early Voting by Personal Appearance Monday, October 21, 2024 

Last Day to Apply for Ballot by Mail (Received, not Postmarked) Friday, October 25, 2024. If you are over the age of 65 or disabled, you can receive your ballot by mail by filling out this application and mailing. Application must be filled out every year you wish to vote by mail.

Last Day of Early Voting by Personal Appearance Friday, November 01, 2024

Election Day is Tuesday Nov 5, 2024 at normal voting precinct polling locations.

To be a board director, you must be at least 18 years of age, either a property owner within the water district or receiving service from the water district, and registered to vote in Kaufman County.
